The RaritanStamps Auction #39, quarterly Stamp Auctions of Rare Worldwide Stamps and Postal History, was quite successful. I pick out 10 most interesting and valuable single stamps from 1341 lots.
1. Cyprus. SG #117a. 1928, King George V, £5 black on yellow paper, gorgeous copy, full OG, light trace of hinge, VF. Winning bid – $2600.00. (add 12.5% buyer’s premium).

2. China. 1897, surcharge $1 on red revenue 3c red, nice centering and intact perforation, large part of OG with minor scratch in the middle of stamp, previously hinged, VF and scarce. Winning bid – $1900.00.

3. China. 1962, Stage Art of Mei Lan-fang, $3 multicolored, souvenir sheet of one, fresh and nice copy without any facial defects, full OG, LH, VF and scarce in premium condition. $5000.00. Another one was sold on eBay month ago.

4. Mexico. 1935, Amelia Earhart Flight, violet overprint on 20c lake, fresh and flawless copy, full OG, previously hinged, VF, Sanabria and Kessler guarantee handstamps, RPS certificate. Winning bid – $2500.00.

5. USSR. 1957, V. Belinski, 40k multicolored, perforation L12½ instead of comb 12½x12, full OG, NH, VF and rare, this perforation variety is not listed either in Scott, Michel or Russian Specialized Catalogues. Winning bid – $2200.00.

6. Zemstvo. Bielozersk. 1908, inverted surcharge 3k on 2k yellow brown, printed on yellow paper, full OG, hinged, VF, Schmidt rank “RR”, ex-Kuznetsov. Winning bid – $3750.00.

7. Zemstvo. Chern. 1869-71, 3k lilac gray, oily printing on thick paper, full OG, previously hinged, VF and scarce, Schmidt #5, rank “RRR”. $4250.00.

8. Zemstvo. Kharkov. 1881, 5k lilac blue, some paper adhesion on reverse, probably removed from an envelope, toned gum, VF and rare stamp, rank”RRR”, Schmidt #13, rank “RRR”, reportedly six copies recorded. Winning bid – $6750.00.

9. Zemstvo. Novaya Ladoga. 1869, 5k red, error of color, fresh, unused, no gum VF, ex-Schmidt and Faberge, Schmidt #3, rank “RR”. Winning bid – $4500.00.

10. Zemstvo. Sumy. 1869, red manuscript 5(k) on 1k blue, a part of TPO cancellation, fresh, F/VF and scarce, Schmidt #6, rank “R”. Winning bid – $4250.00.
